MahaZine 2 Launch @ Paradiso
Mahazine is a self-published DIY zine by Maha Elijak, a multi-hyphenate talent (model, musician, event organiser, poet to name a few) and i was kindly invited along to take photos at the launch event that was held at Paradiso on Feb 25th 2025. It was an evening with panels, speeches, poetry
,cuisine as well as a music set by Raiyu with vocals by Nora. Mahazine focuses on the experiences of Sudanese, as well as other diasporic communities of colour.
Feminist March 2024
The Feminist March is a foundation that organises a yearly expo and march in celebration of women's day. They put on talks, workshops and organise a parade through the streets of Amsterdam, with the aim to provide resources for women and non-binary people. I was asked to be the official event photographer as I participated last year conducting a Zine-making workshop with my magazine Cyber Atelier and wanted to be further involved with the foundation. Unfortunately, I was unable to take photos of the march procession this year as it was cancelled due to police brutality taking place at a pro-Palestinian demonstration that took place earlier in the day. Overall, I really enjoyed being involved in the day at the expo and being able to talk to a lot of the key activists making waves in the Netherlands.
Septimius Awards 2023 - Foxer Talent
Working for Foxer Talent, I was a part of an audiovisual team to collect content and provide general media coverage of The Septimius awards, which is a yearly celebration of film and television. The awards ceremony took place at the ITA here in Amsterdam, and I was tasked to take pictures of the 2 day event - with shots detailing the behind-the-scenes, the discussion panel, the red carpet event and awards ceremony. Pictured here are some moment from the day, including shots of some well-established industry names, such as the Oscar-winning composer Stephen Warbeck, and Jenny Beavan, a highly decorated costume designer, who has won academy awards, and can be known from one of her most recent projects as the costume designer for Disney’s Cruella.
Juicy Odyessy x Cyber Atelier x Sexyland - Feb 2023
For issue 5 of Cyber Atelier, we were invited to collaborate with Juicy Odyssey, a local nightlife event organiser with a focus on fostering a sense of community for Queer Gen-z people in Amsterdam. This night we went to sexyland to create a spread for the Attention issue and to spread the word of Juicy Odyssey's events. Here you can see pictures of the event detailing the festivities and the partygoers in attendance. In addition, I interviewed clubgoers on their thoughts about the environment that JO creates. This can all be found in the print of Issue 5.
